The Last President by Ingersoll Lockwood
These century-old predictions are uncanny.
Too much like our present day, say some. Proof that time travel exists, say others.
Ingersoll Lockwood, himself a lawyer, wrote a pamphlet which predicted the rise of an outsider presidential candidate who took the presidency of our nation and ended it. Set in the late 1800’s, it tells of a populist candidate who is elected with the platform to “undo the bad business of years of unholy union between barters and sellers of human toil and the law makers of the land.”
Plotto Genie for Flash Fiction and Short Stories
Content Structure for Flash Fiction has never been so simple and fast.

The Amateur Cracksman – Ernest William Hornung
Arthur Raffles is a prominent member of London society, and a national sporting hero. As a cricketer he regularly represents England in Test matches. He uses this as a chance to commit a number of burglaries, primarily stealing valuable jewellry from his hosts. In this he is assisted by his friend, the younger, idealistic Bunny Manders.
Both men are constantly under the surveillance of Inspector Mackenzie of Scotland Yard who is always thwarted in his attempts to pin the crimes on Raffles.
His Last Bow – Arthur Conan Doyle
His Last Bow: Some Reminiscences of Sherlock Holmes is a collection of previously published Sherlock Holmes stories by Arthur Conan Doyle, including the titular short story, “His Last Bow. The War Service of Sherlock Holmes” (1917).
Holmes is long retired from his profession of detective but is still alive and well, albeit suffering from a touch of rheumatism…
The Magic World – Edith Nesbitt
The Magic World is an influential collection of twelve short stories by E. Nesbit. It was first published in book form in 1912 by Macmillan and Co. Ltd., with illustrations by H. R. Millar and Gerald Spencer Pryse. The stories, previously printed in magazines (like Blackie’s Children’s Annual), are typical of Nesbit’s arch, ironic, clever fantasies for children.
