Still calving, still publishing. Something new this week – an audio file as a reader magnet. Of course the value is much greater than is apparent – just the way we all like it. Still, it took three days plus to get together and published. Just under the wire…

This will probably be short.
Still having amazing results from focusing on a single “burning desire” (goal) and pushing this through. I’ve been able to focus my own inspiration as well – a new thing for me and my “firehose” output.
Three books published this week. The Erotika Jones 01 Book Universes Notes (BUN) was a test-run for that Time Bent Anthology BUN. (And I’ll tell my list about it as a P.S. this week. Good response last week, as usual.)
A new approach has been to write a non-fiction work about fiction. Took the plunge to build the “Time Bent Anthology.” Now, this gives problems as the time-mender mindset gives all sorts of apparent plot holes. Because time-benders think in simultaneous time-streams, not just one single linear one like us.
Meaning: I needed to create a special Book Universes Notes audio just for this book. And that itself took most of yesterday afternoon. 26:17 as the final result.
The idea is to use that as a reader magnet for the anthology itself – while also giving a great value to my own subscribers. (Advance Reader Club will be the testers for that link – and get a huge amount of bonuses as a result – just the way it’s set up.)
I’ve adopted the policy of fixing any book I have to touch for any reason. Updating the back-ads, republishing through D2D and Amazon (ZON). And I’ve set up a metric on these to keep track.
Now, this week, I did get the non-fiction landing page finalized and linked it into the existing redirect link I’ve been most using for SSL. So that will give them a library to download instead of sign up for. That membership I set up three years ago really didn’t work. A few hundred people signed up, but it wasn’t hooked up to any email list, so half of those went inactive. And with this update, the only way to find that opt-in is having a direct link. So, you can find that link on the front page of this site now.
For all the talk of memberships, I set one up originally. Didn’t work well for me – mainly because I was deep into research. Meanwhile, I found that email lists are memberships, so are courses. Those are the two I should focus on. (And don’t forget ecommerce like Gumroad…)
The podcasts are going alternate weeks, since the flow is working out to set all these up and then publish them the following week. Got a great one coming out this week, and is a fascinating/rare treat from Nightingale. It needed transcribing and the main audio is a bit tetchy – but it explains things that no one else has.
By working on this Anthology and its Book Universes Notes, it took all my fiction and non-fiction time. Of course, it fits as it’s a fiction anthology and non-fiction about that fiction. Just didn’t get anywhere near Wattpad.
Still, I updated a couple of books this week in spite of everything – of course the new ones all get the updated backend. The challenge this week will be to get all my pre-orders updated, and then start in on re-publishing my books Amazon (ZON) was nagging D2D about (which I then took down as it’s not worth my pain when I can publish direct – just as the great (bully) ZON wishes.
I’ve again left PubD and SL out of the loop – but Calibre is keeping track of these for me. The priority is getting books updated through D2D and ZON, as that is where the bulk of the income is coming from.
And with that new Non-Fiction landing page working, I’ll be able to start working over the non-fiction either on D2D or through my Calibre program. So these should both make great strides this week.
That hanging fiction book got a sort out two weeks ago (in the cracks of time) so should see it’s “a-borning” this week.
Also took first steps to getting FB ads going for subscribers. Dawson has a free mini course on these, and I transcribed the audio to make it a faster learning curve.
Had another troll on IF come out and impolitely ask his book to be removed from one of my extended giveaways. Two out of hundreds of books up there now. (Sigh…) IF is still converting to subscribers only at 28% – so their statistics are proving consistently faulty. 28% of 30/40% tells us that it’s 8-10% of the total books you gave away. Your best work is in becoming a verified organizer, but that is just working for IF.
I plan to somehow get these caught up this week on IF. StoryOrigins will need a different workout.
Priorities Lists (again – to remind me.)
General priorities (subscribers) –
- Continue weekly emails to subscribers
- Organic subscriber lines built up (book backmatter, Wattpad, Medium)
- IF maintained until Story Origin can replace
- Once organic routes are in place, the segue to FB and other ads
Content priorities –
- Continue to add more goal-achievement podcast episodes and articles. -> opt-in’s
- Distill these into articles for Medium -> opt-in’s
- Continue creating new fiction with improved backmatter.
Sequence of these one-day blitzes
