We Get What We Expect (An excerpt from the bestselling series How to Completely Change Your Life in 30 Seconds, based on talks by Earl Nightingale) I ran across a quotation by Norman Cousins I thought you'd find interesting. He said, "The prime fallacy of pessimism is that no one knows enough to be a pessimist." I'm sure a pessimist would counter with the remark that if that's true, no one knows enough to be an optimist, but this would not change the truth of the former thought. The prime fallacy of pessimism is that no one knows enough to be a pessimist and regardless of whether this is also true of the optimist, we do know that over the long haul we tend to get what we expect from life. Because we tend to get what we really expect from life. It makes a lot of sense to choose to … [Read more...]
Sixth Sense – Door to the Temple of Wisdom
(An excerpt from The Strangest Secret Library – available on Amazon) Sixth Sense – Door to the Temple of Wisdom The Thirteenth Step toward Riches THE “thirteenth” principle is known as the SIXTH SENSE, through which Infinite Intelligence may, and will communicate voluntarily, without any effort from, or demands by, the individual. This principle is the apex of the philosophy. It can be assimilated, understood, and applied ONLY by first mastering the other twelve principles. The SIXTH SENSE is that portion of the subconscious mind which has been referred to as the Creative Imagination. It has also been referred to as the “receiving set” through which ideas, plans, and thoughts flash into the mind. The “flashes” are sometimes called “hunches” or “inspirations.” The sixth sense … [Read more...]

Women and the Science of Belief – Magic of Believing
(An excerpt from "The Strangest Secret Library" - available on Amazon.) Women and the Science of Belief - Magic of Believing As ideas for this book occurred to me, I frequently thought of the many famous women who had used the power of belief. Once Ben Hur Lampman specifically suggested that I write about them: "Many women may not realize they can use your science just as advantageously as men, and you should be specific in your message to them. Once they understand and apply what you give, they'll find themselves in a position to turn the world figuratively upside down. If there were some way for women of all nationalities to unite and use this science, there would be no future wars. "Women are supreme egotists - when they get the idea they can do something, and that idea becomes … [Read more...]
The Profile of a Creative Person
(An excerpt from the bestseller How to Completely Change Your Life in 30 Seconds, based on talks by Earl Nightingale) The Profile of a Creative Person REACH FOR IDEAS The creative person realizes that his mind is an inexhaustible storehouse. It can provide anything he earnestly wants in life. But in order to draw from this storehouse, he must constantly augment its stock of information, thoughts, and wisdom. He reaches out for ideas. By first listening to ideas and then thinking them through before judging them, the creative person avoids prejudice and close-mindedness. This is the way he maintains a creative “climate” around himself. Ideas are … [Read more...]
Your Long and Short Range Goals – Earl Nightingale
There's a story about a man hunting tigers in India, who was suddenly surprised by a huge Bengal tiger—it was almost on top of him. The man raised his rifle and fired, but he overshot and missed. The tiger, frightened by the man and thrown off stride by the noise of the gun, leaped toward the hunter. But the leap was too wide, and he missed his prey. The man returned to camp and spent several hours perfecting his aim for short distances and quick firing. On the following day, he again stalked the tiger. Finally, he spotted the beast at some distance. The tiger was practicing short leaps. It’s a charming little story, and it started me thinking about a subject it seems we can’t say too much about—goals. Did you ever sit down and make a list of everything you want? It’s a very interesting … [Read more...]
