How Harry Potter Helped Me Leave My Muggle Life, and Achieve My Wizard Goals
There was no snowy owl who dropped an invitation on my lap one day.
It took years and years of dedicated study to find I was a wizard the whole time.
And you could, too. But it won’t take you years to find out how. Because I’m here to spill the magic beans and speed up your journey.
There are two worlds you live in – one is the world of Muggles. This is the one in the news, in our common entertainment, in our educational system, at our jobs. Our neighbors and associates talk about this world all the time. Muggledom. All around us.
The other world has magic in it. Miracles happen. You can have and be whatever you want. Anything you dream of can happen right in front of you, or all around you.
Like the fantasy world of Harry Potter, the two worlds co-exist. And you know what I’m talking about.
Because every now and then, you’ve seen the strangest things happen. You thought of someone and they came up to talk to you. You wanted something very strongly and it showed up, or a way for your to earn it appeared. Maybe it was just seeing a very strange set of coincidences happen.
Magic and Muggles coexist. But the Muggles don’t see the Magic.
You have. You’re not one of them. And you could learn to develop this talent and ability of yours.
All you have to do is to learn to discover the Secrets Hidden in Plain Sight.
The reason you don’t think you know how to do that is because of your lifetime of training. You’ve been taught since you were born to not look, to not think, and to not act. You’ve been taught to “go along to get along.” You have been firmly told that you need to do your job, keep your head down, and keep working at it.
But inside you, you’ve always known something just isn’t right.
And that’s why you like the movies where you can watch the good guy win by using his native abilities, even though the bad guys also have incredible powers.
If you look closely, you’ll see that they discovered secrets hidden in plain sight. That was part of their “hero’s journey.” They figured something out, or several somethings, and all of the sudden knew how to get what the wanted and get rid of the bad guy. Then they came home, having learned something about themselves.
You just wished you could do something like that in real life. You wished your job wasn’t so boring or tedious. You hoped that one day you didn’t have to dress up and act like everyone else, that you could be yourself and be the hero or heroine every day.
Let’s look at why you think you aren’t:
- There are secrets hidden in plain sight. That’s the first clue.
- You need to re-learn to look, to observe what’s actually there.
- You need to re-learn how to think, to understand what you observe.
- And you need to re-learn to act when the time is right, when you know what you need to do.
Observe. Understand. Act.
Simple. Maybe too simple. We like our worlds complex. And we are kept in the Muggle world by all this complexity that shouts at us every day that we are too weak and insignificant to change things.
Harry Potter didn’t solve everything overnight. He had to decide to quit the Muggle world he was raised in and go after a goal. He wanted to become a Wizard.
You have that choice in front of you.
Just start by practicing to observe the world around you just as it is, without prejudice or expected outcomes. Just see, hear, and experience things exactly as they actually are.
Then truly work to understand what it is that you just saw, heard, or experienced.
Here’s four questions you can ask:
1. How can I put what I found to work for me?
2. How does that make me feel?
3. What does that mean to me?
4. How does that fit in with everything else I know?
Then, finally: 5. What does this inspire me to do?
Those questions came out of the oldest surviving philosophy on this planet, which has been healing people, influencing the weather, and allowing people to walk on burning lava without being burnt – all since before our recorded history. Those questions were hidden in the language itself, so that they could be passed down from generation to generation.
They are magic. Yet they are not. They are very sensible, even common sense.
Hidden in plain sight.
When you know how and practice this ability to observe, understand, and act, the world’s secrets become open to you. You won’t see the world the same way as the people around you.
And then any goal you want to achieve can be yours. Any amount of prosperity in your life can show up.
You know this to be true. Or you wouldn’t have read this far.
But of course, there’s another statement from those old shaman, “Truth is as valuable as it is workable.” So test this for yourself. Use those questions above on every thing you’ve just read here.
And start becoming the wizard you’ve always suspected you were.
